Rupee hovered near 95.85 per dollar, as softer oil prices and continued RBI intervention limited downside. Brent crude hovered near $102.10 a barrel on hopes of a diplomatic resolution to the Middle East conflict, easing concerns over India?s energy import bill. State-run bank dollar sales and RBI spot intervention and FX swaps also helped contain losses. The central bank?s earlier policy measures have attracted about $133 billion through the diaspora deposit scheme, lifting FX reserves to a record high. Meanwhile, uncertainty surrounding US-Iran negotiations continued to keep oil prices elevated, adding further pressure to inflation expectations. We expect the pair to move in the range of 308.50-310.75 per KWD (USD/INR 95.50-96.25).
